Other important festivals include the Buddhist Ladakh festivals such as Hemis, Dussehra in Kulu and Mysore (Sep/Oct) Diwali (Oct/Nov) Pongal in Tamil Nadu, Nehru boat race in Alleppy and Pooram in Thrissur. Dates of the Full Moon (Year 2010-2011) Many people like to view the Taj Mahal during the Full Moon as the moonlight gives a special effect and atmosphere. However, security is extremely tight and the stringent checks make entry very time consuming.
